The new Batman game titled, Batman: Arkham City on the PS3 has been named Metacritics Game of the Year for 2011.
It beat another highly exciting game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, by just a few decimal points to take the top honors. Both these games had scored 96 out of a possible 100 points in the review aggregator.
Both these above mentioned titles charted two times on different consoles in the top ten entries with Portal 2 charting 3 times and Mass Effect 2, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and Minecraft were also present in the charts.
Previously Super Mario Galaxy 2, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Grand Theft Auto IV and Super Mario Galaxy have been named the Metacritic Game of the year before 2011’s winner Batman: Arkham City.
In the individual console charts Batman: Arkham City was the best game on PS3 with 96 points while Kung Fu Panda 2: The Video Game came last with 31 points.
On the Xbox 360 console the best game was The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim with a score of 96 and Blackwater was last with 32 points. The best Wii game was The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword with 93 points and Transformers: Dark of the Moon – Stealth Force Edition was the worst with 33 points.
