A number of players are dominating the world of gaming consoles such as Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo. The consoles which are most popular are the PlayStation 3 from Sony, Wii from Nintendo and Xbox 360 from Microsoft in the field of home console and Sony PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS in case of handheld devices.
It is speculated that the sleek model of PS3 from Sony will hit the market very soon and the images of that console have been leaked out on the web. People will get some idea about the specification of this latest PS3 looking at the images.
A sliding panel on the top of the console is seen in the images which indicate that the device may have a cheaper top loading disc drive. The product numbers for the consoles which could be made out from the images are CECH-4011A, CHECH-4011B and CECH-4011C which basically correspond to the different storage capacities such as 16 GB, 250 GB and 500 GB respectively for the above mentioned products.
As per the statements made by Joystiq, the images of these new versions of the PlayStation 3 consoles have been shown on the website for the American FCC though Sony has declined to make any comments on the release of a new model of the PlayStation 3.
